We recently performed a large security upgrade for a Fortune 500 company—and with all hands on deck, a full-day undertaking and a six months of planning, it’s definitely something we want to celebrate!
What we did: Octeum was tasked with upgrading 46 communication, application and remote desktop web servers for a major US technology company. This included 300 global offices, 1,000 panels, network video recorders and client updates.
How we did it: We started by looking at where there was room for improvement during our last upgrade. This time, we managed backend services to minimize time and the impact on servers, adjusted monitoring to avoid false positives and shifted transaction priorities.
The win: In the past, these upgrades took 18 hours. But because our team had identified key improvements during prior upgrades, this ended up being the company’s fastest upgrade yet. In all, we finished in 11 hours.

We worked closely with multiple people across the organization and their entire corporate security team to ensure things ran smoothly and efficiently.
